I'm glad you're here.
I founded Words of Woods in 2023 to foster my enthusiasum for writing, and reach out to other writers. The main goal of Words of Woods was to form a community of impassioned storytellers that could count on one another to make their stories stronger, build their skills, and make friends along the way. Our community building is underway! Since our initial outreach in March 2023, I've partnered with Misguided Press, an amazing author resource based out of Canada. I've also worked with a diverse group of newbie and experienced authors, learned so much about the industry, and continue to grow.
A scientist at heart, I've completed bachelor's and master's degrees in biology and environmental science. I graduated from a small town in the swamps of South Louisiana and headed to Texas to become a "superstar science queen" [my intern's words-- not mine] and simply never gave up my passion for books. I currently work as an environmental specialist in the heat of West Texas.
Alexandra is a biologist by day and fantasy author by night. From reading the work of others to writing her own, she's been immersed in storytelling since cracking open The Giver in middle school. Her debut fantasy novel is currently in production, and is set to release in late 2025.
She and her partner (along with their zoo of pets) are from the deep swamps of Louisiana, and now reside in Texas.
